Definitions / Study Helps
  • When
    1. In Revelation 8:1 the word “When” begins the chapter. It is a word used to establish a definitive occurrence of something but doesn’t give specifics as to the exact time. (i.e., “When” the Lamb brakes the seventh seal the following things will happen. This shows us that the lamb will break the seventh seal and the events that follow will take place. It is a question of when not if.)
Primary Verses
• Revelation 8:1-2
• Exodus 14:13-14
• Habakkuk 2:20
• Zephaniah 1:7
• Zechariah 2:13
• Psalm 46:10
Related Verses:
• Exodus 14:10-18
• Habakkuk 2:18-20
• Psalm 4:2, 6:1-3, 13:1-2, 35:17, 46:1-11, 62:3, 74:10, 79:5, 80:4, 90:13, 94:3, & 119:84
• Revelation 6:9-10
• Zechariah 2:10-13
• Zephaniah 1:1-7
((To gain the most from these questions, use your Bible. Rather than creative thinking, seek the Word of God for sound truths.))

  1. What is the connection between the grumbling Israelites in Exodus 14 and the silence in Heaven in Revelation 8?
  2. How is it that we today can “fear not” and stand by and see the salvation of the Lord?
  3. As Christians, we will have the opportunity to be silent, stand by, and observe the ______ of the Lord? – (Exodus 14:13) How is this made so in Revelation 8?

Sermon Notes

“May the peace of God be with you always.
Father we have no words of knowledge to offer you, rather we lean upon Your every word.
Teach us Father to be students of Yours that we might know that you are God.
Give us Your truth that we may no longer lean upon our own understanding.
We pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord.”

~ Amen ~
