Definitions / Study Helps
  • Blessing(verbal) to praise, to give thanks to, speak well of, or extol; to act kindly and
impart benefits to the one being blessed. Praise, benediction, and prayer.
  • Glory(stimulating sight & sound) to seem, primarily signifies an opinion, estimate, and hence, the honor resulting from a good opinion. It is used of the nature and acts of God in self-manifestation: splendor, brilliance, from the base meaning of the awesome light that radiates from God’s presence and is associated with acts of power. The felicity of heaven prepared for the children of God; celestial bliss.
  • Honor(worth) a valuing: such as is shown through finance. “The preciousness of Christ unto believers:” honor, value, respect, nobility, money, and cost.
  • Might(ability to do anything) ability, power, and might.
  • Power(protection) to have, bring under: power, ability, miracle, ruler; an extended meaning of a person or supernatural being who has administrative power. Abundance.
  • Thanksgiving(expressions) expressions of thanks for God’s grace, gratitude.
  • Wisdom(truth) insight into the true nature of things; wisdom personified, God: secular or divine wisdom – Christ is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24 and 30). The right use or exercise of knowledge; the choice of healthy ends, and of the best means to accomplish them.

Sermon Notes
  1. Seven ways to worship God:
    • Blessing
    • Glory
    • Honor
    • Might
    • Power
    • Thanksgiving
    • Wisdom
  2. The Truth of God inside of you will excite you about worship.
  3. Being amazed about something and giving it glory, but not acknowledging God is idolatry.
  4. We need to ask God for His help for He knows and owns everything.

“May the peace of God be with you always.
Father, You alone are worthy of all of our worship.
Show us the completeness of Your salvation made manifest through the worship that You call us to.
Father may there be no part of us, no portion of our lives, that is not given completely over to the worship of You.
We pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord.”

~ Amen ~

I just noticed when the Truth of God excites you about worship this is following Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” – KJV
