Progressive Christianity – Progressive Revelation
“The Revelation of Jesus The Christ – Christ’s Ministry to His Church”
“…The Wrath Revealed…”
Definitions / Study Helps
  • Sixth Seal – Overpowering fear is the force unleashed by this seal. The first five seals were precursors to the full fury of the Day of the Lord, which will begin with the sixth seal. The events described in this seal unleash the seventh, which contains the trumpet judgments and the bowl judgments.
  • Repentance – Repentance is a change of mind, or a conversion from sin to God. Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation. (2 Corinthians 7 and Matthew 3) “Repentance is the relinquishment of any practice, from conviction that it has offended God.”Websters 1828

((To gain the most from these questions, use your Bible. Rather than creative thinking, seek the Word of God for sound truths.))

  1. Why does humankind fear the Day of the Lord? How can this fear be replaced with rest?
  2. What kind of heart does sin produce? What does godly repentance produce within a mans heart?
  3. Will you come to God, trust in Christ and repent of your sin today, or will you run from Him, hide from Him and harden your heart towards Him? Do you desire His rest or His judgment? Come to Jesus that you might know His rest. Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Sermon Notes

“May the peace of God be with you always.
Father we love your righteousness, we partake of it through Christ our Lord and enter into Your rest.
We rejoice in your gift and your coming judgment as we trust in your perfect plan.
We thank you for the forgiveness of our trespasses and seek your continued mercy as we walk by faith in light of your grace.
We pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord.”

~ Amen ~
