“Sound the End” – part 11

Week #42
Sunday, October 20, 2013 … In the year of our LORD
Progressive Christianity – Progressive Revelation
“The Revelation of Jesus The Christ – Christ’s Ministry to His Church”
~ Part 11 ~
“…Let The Trumpets Sound The End:
Preparation For Trumpet 7 –
Assimilate The Word Of God…”
Definitions / Study Helps
  • Assimilate(verb) To take in, to digest and understand fully. To absorb something and
cause the one who is absorbing to become like what is being absorbed. As our culture takes in modern trends and various media outlets, it becomes more like the trends of the Hollywood stars and the shows that it watches. To the contrary we as believers are to take in the Word of God and become like it.
Primary Verses
• Revelation 10:8-11
Related Verses:
• Acts 20:27

((To gain the most from these questions, use your Bible. Rather than creative thinking, seek the Word of God for sound truths.))

  1. How does what is told to John in Revelation and what is told to Ezekiel in Ezekiel 2:9-3:4 line up and what does it teach us concerning John and God’s using of him?
  2. What makes us (Christians) confident? What makes us safe?
  3. Can we know truth?
  4. How do we know truth?
  5. How is the Word of God (Bible) compared to food and what practical truths and insights do we learn from these comparisons? – (Matthew 4:4, 1 Peter 2:2, 1 Corinthians 3:1-2, and Psalm 119:103)
  6. What does it mean to eat God’s Word?
  7. How does assimilating John 14:1-3 into our lives effect our outlook and change our lives for the better?

Sermon Notes
  1. The book of Revelation is similar to the book of Ezekiel.
  2. “Eating” the Word is a resemblance of understanding it and living like it.
  3. As Christians, confidence is the assurance of God’s will and our place in Him.
  4. All things work by the instruction of God.
  5. Truth is found in the Bible, which God has revealed.
  6. We must not quench the proclaiming of truth to others.
  7. We are called to act like the scripture declares and not this world.
  8. God’s Word is not to please our ears but to convict our heart with the truth. This will cause us to repent.

“May the peace of God be with you always.
Our Holy Father in Heaven You have by Your great mercy given us the gift of Your Word.
By Your Spirit’s presence within us we ask that You lead us, Your church, as we study and assimilate Your Word and Your great truths into our lives.
We pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord.”

~ Amen ~

One Response so far.

  1. Lucius says:

It is funny how God has revealed to Ezekiel and Daniel very similar things.
