Sermon Notes
  1. To look at how we determine what is sin, we must look at these four points and what they are:
    • Feeling – Perception
    • Opinion – Persuasion, Probability
    • Tradition – Practices passed down (Generationally)
    • Law – Fixed/Permanent Rule
  2. If there is even a sliver of doubt, it’s an opinion.
  3. If a sin defies a group of believers’ beliefs, then it’s defying a tradition.
  4. We must find what kind of law the person is defying, is it of God’s or man’s?
  5. We must submit to our authorities.
  6. According to 1 John 3:4, if one commits a sin, he also is transgressing the law. This is because sin is the transgression of the law.
  7. Where two or three are gathered in the Lord’s name, there He is in the midst.
  8. Christ should be used as an encouragement through discipline.
  9. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, thus we need to approach things in humility, knowing we need Christ.
  10. As Christians, followers of Christ, we are to be representatives of heaven.
  11. According to God’s Word, there are no murderers in heaven. If one hates a brother and does so as part of his lifestyle, he is a murderer.

“May the peace of God be with you always.
Our Father in Heaven, we praise You for Your Word as we submit ourselves to the teaching of it.
In your grace we seek that You mature us now in Your love & righteousness.
We pray in the name of Jesus.”

~ Amen ~
