Sermon Notes
  1. According to Matthew 18:23, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who would take account of his servants.
  2. The Lord will deliver you to the tormentors if you do not forgive your brother all his debts. In this case, the tormentors seem to be representing Satan.
  3. According to 2 Corinthians 2:7, we should forgive our brother and comfort him that he not be swallowed up by excessive sorrow.
  4. As man, we naturally want a brother to serve his due punishment, but God says to forgive them instead.
  5. The church can’t be a model of Christ yet we not forgive a brother.
  6. The forgiveness of a brother shouldn’t be conditional or some sort of probation period, but rather absolute forgiveness.
  7. One great example of how one should forgive a brother is the parable of the prodigal son.
  8. The church should always be actively pursuing Christ.

“May the peace of God be with you always.
Our Father in Heaven, we praise You for Your Word as we submit ourselves to the teaching of it.
In your grace we seek that You mature us now in Your love & righteousness.
We pray in the name of Jesus.”

~ Amen ~
